I was moved by the speeches, overwhelmed by the emotion of the moment and impressed by the preparation and presentation of the graduation ceremonies. I know, seems crazy, that I’d get that emotionally distracted while working an event. That’s just not like me… OK, so maybe it is a little bit…

I was photographing the 2011 graduation of Trinity School of Durham and Chapel Hill… & my kids weren’t graduating. Truth be told, I didn’t really know any of the graduates. Admit I must, that the emotions I had related to visions my kids graduating from High School. I was really amazed and awed by the community, culture and vision of Trinity School. As a parent I think lots about the development of my children, who will teach them and what they will be taught. I can easily say that I’ve been thrilled and amazed by our experience with Trinity. Teachers, staff, kids and families have been fantastic. I look forward to a decade from now when our kids really do graduate from high school.
