The Yellow Chair has its 15 minutes of FAME!  The NACE (National Association of Catering Executives) had their annual fundraiser to benefit the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle.  The theme this year was An Alice Affair- using the recently released Alice in Wonderland update as a creative inspiration.  Carl Johnson of Durham Magazine and Jami Caskey of WRAL FM were amazing in their portrayal of Mad Hatter and Alice.  And as designer of the center stage they graced- of course I had to incorporate the Yellow Chair.  It fit to perfection with the Mad Hatters table.  As the night progressed, our actors warmed to their parts.  I did think I was going to fall over when I witnessed the Mad Hatter (Carl Johnson) jump up on the tea table and march across – only to step down onto the Yellow Chair to give his next address.  Carl and the Yellow Chair survived- and now I know how to get chocolate icing off yellow fabric!
