It finally dipped under 50 degrees this winter.  Dipped so far as to drop a little snow.  I appears the Snow has stopped all construction work…. that or maybe there is no action due the “President’s Holiday” today.  All of 9th St. seems a little quieter today with the holiday.

Well, it is Saturday and I’m at the studio all day to teach photo classes.  Thought the big construction trucks might role in a mile worth of pipe while no one was at work.  There were no trucks, but a Tesla came to visit.  Not the most common car to Durham, so I thought I’d grab a picture for the blog.  Very cool, but a little on the pricey side.  I keep looking for a Tesla Groupon…

Met a couple of nice guys today getting ready for the project.  They were going along the route the pipes will be laid and were photographing and videotaping buildings, streets, sidewalks and the like to have a visual record of what things looked like before the project.  It is a sort of insurance policy against those who might accuse / sue the construction crew of damaging “X” and then they can go back and prove that “X” was broken, cracked, ugly etc before the digging ever started.

No Water line action today…

Car with dead battery needs jump & linemen work on power poles down on main street…. maybe they are getting READY for a flurry of activity.

Don’t Dig Here lines have been painted

The City Durham came to visit a couple of weeks ago and they informed us that 9th St and Main St. were going to be torn up to put in a new water pipe. The Project Map incidated 5000+ feet of pipe.  I’m hoping to keep a visual record of the project… just bacause it is in our back yard.

Here are pix from day one.  No truck, no back hoes… nothing.  So at least  we have some pix of what it looked like prior to the big dig.

Day 1= No Action
